key survey findings

Too much time is spent on low-value tasks.

Respondents cited lack of resources and people, time wasted to keep track of documents & versions, and being buried in low value tasks as the top three challenges that keep them from doing their job well.

Department headcount isn’t likely to grow.

65% of legal professionals are worried about impacts from the uncertain economy and 69% anticipate cutting spending through reduced outside counsel, hiring freezes, and layoffs.

Faith in legal tech is high.

Our survey showed that more than 70% of in-house legal professionals believe technology helps to increase efficiencies in an economic downturn.

Technology spend is imminent.

Among expectations of layoffs, and hiring freezes, 44% expect to add tech to increase efficiency.

Many teams have the same technology needs.

Survey respondents indicated that tools for
e-signature
, contract repository, and contract review/redlining are their priority acquisitions.

With the rise of AI and contract lifecycle management, the tools to streamline workflows and automate processes are finally making their way to legal teams.

It's an exciting time to be in-house.
