Lexion was created at a world class AI research institute, is backed by an iconic Silicon Valley law firm, and is funded by top-tier VC firms.

Our three founders, Gaurav, Emad, and James, met at the Allen Institute for AI in 2018, the same year that major breakthroughs in natural language processing occurred. Motivated by using this tech to eliminate tedious work, the trio immediately saw the value of automatically extracting key details from contracts - to free legal teams from menial tasks like filing contracts and manual reporting, so they can focus on what really matters: growing the business and providing strategic advice.

They founded Lexion in 2019 to make this a reality, and set to building a world class product with simplicity at its core. In 2020, they invited Jessica to join Lexion as Chief Legal Officer, with the mission to be the voice of the customer. Jessica's decades long experience as in-house counsel was a perfect addition to Lexion's DNA in combining deep tech and legal expertise.
